CV Writing in 2025: What to Keep, Cut, and Create

Is your CV working for you — or against you? In 2025, CVs need to be smarter, sharper, and more focused than ever.

✅ Keep:

  • A concise profile summary (2–3 lines) with your top strengths
  • Bullet points with impact – start each line with an action verb and quantify where possible
  • Tailored content to match each job (keywords matter for ATS systems!)
  • Location details either full address or postcode

✂️ Cut:

  • Long paragraphs and generic jargon
  • Outdated roles or irrelevant experience
  • Personal details like marital status

✨ Create:

  • A clear skills section with your top 6–8 skills
  • A short achievements list under each job (think: what did you achieve, not just what you did)  Make these as specific as possible using both numbers and text
  • A clean, modern format — ideally in PDF or Word format (unless stated otherwise)
